When I Get Home came about during a period of personal turmoil for Knowles as she faced health problems, but she says it was “the Don’t tell me to calm down I will throw a fucking char at your face shirt Furthermore, I will do this project that literally changed my life”. I would see all these wonderful avant-garde designers in magazines from Hussein Chalayan to Yohji Yamamoto and Comme des Garçons. I never thought I’d be able to touch those types of garments and see them come to life — it’s almost like fulfilling my childhood dream.”
